COOP is a program of study for students who have an interest in working with young children. COOP stands for Child Oriented Occupational Program. COOP is a work based program for high school juniors and seniors dedicated to establishing a career in early childhood education. High School students that have taken prerequisite coursework in child development and early childhood education are selected to work as teachers in our on campus preschool.  During their training, high school students acquire first aid and CPR certification, fingerprint clearance cards (if required) and employee training as required by the Arizona Department of Health Services. Students will also plan, execute and evaluate lessons appropriate for the developmental age of preschool students.

WELCOME INTERNSHIP CLASSESThis is the in class portion of your Professional Internship Program.  The purpose of the Senior Internship class is to prepare you to successfully complete the Professional Internship Experience.  During the course of three weeks, we will lproduce the following:  career exploration assessments, cover ltters, business cards, resumes, on-line applications a career portfolio and prepare you for a mock interview.  You will have 2 guest speakers discussing the job market, the interview process, and your career passion.  This time will also be used to identify an Internship location.  It is ultimately your responsibility to secure an Internship site.All forms are available online through E Campus and the PUSD Student Intern Portal at http://www/sites/CTEStudentZone/CTEInternshipforStudents/default.aspx   Please be sure to review all forms including the Grading Policy.  This gies you a complete list of everything that you must turn in during the course of the semester.  The details of the final course assessment (Your Career Portfolio) are also available.Ultimately, your sucess in the Professional Internship Program is up to you.  You are responsible for obtaining an Internship location.  You are responsible for getting to your site at the scheduled times and doing quality work.  You are responsible for completing ALL assignments and turning in all necessary forms and reports.  As with life, what you will get out of this experience is in direct relation to what you invest or give.  Please let me know how I can help you succeed!
