PHS COOP - MFishencord

COOP is a program of study for students who have an interest in working with young children. COOP stands for Child Oriented Occupational Program. COOP is a work based program for high school juniors and seniors dedicated to establishing a career in early childhood education. High School students that have taken prerequisite coursework in child development and early childhood education are selected to work as teachers in our on campus preschool.  During their training, high school students acquire first aid and CPR certification, fingerprint clearance cards (if required) and employee training as required by the Arizona Department of Health Services. Students will also plan, execute and evaluate lessons appropriate for the developmental age of preschool students.
